BIRMINGHAM: In the sanctity of their rooms, the Indian players are quietly poring over video-tapes of Pakistani matches as they wait for the big day in the Champions Trophy.

<div class="section1"><div class="Normal">BIRMINGHAM: In the sanctity of their rooms, the Indian players are quietly poring over video-tapes of Pakistani matches as they wait for the big day in the Champions Trophy.<br /><br />Leading from the front again is Sourav Ganguly. The Indian captain, who wasn''t an avid follower of tapes and video analysis till recently, is one of the new converts and is spending extra time on a borrowed laptop.<br /><br />"I have been doing it for some time now," he told <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Times of India</span>."You can say that it''s increased a little bit in recent times," he added. He has, however, not yet deemed it necessary to acquire his own laptop.<br /><br />Sources reveal that his turning point came shortly after the Australian series.<br /><br />Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid, Venkatsai Laxman, Mohammed Kaif, Yuvraj Singh and Virender Sehwag, as is well known, are the main think-tanks within the team.<br /><br /></div> </div><div class="section2"><div class="Normal"><br />"They have always turned to match footage to analyse their games," team manager Gautam das Gupta said.<br /><br />According to sources close to the skipper, he has been studying the batting of captain Inzamam-ul-Haq, Yousuf Younhana and Yasser Hameed since the game against Kenya last week.<br /><br />"He is doing lot of work with tapes," revealed a source within the team. "He comes to the team meetings with his own strategies," he added.<br /><br />It''s learnt that the players have been studying Pakistan''s last two matches against Australia, the final in Holland and the One-dayer at Lord''s.<br /><br />"The basic thing is to look at the top batsmen in the opposition. Their run-accumulation and dismissal patterns," he explained.</div> </div>
